Thanks Shan. I hope to do much better :)

Tinu - thanks for your comment. You have some admin exp, do you want to move into HR? Then move to a HR role and join the SAP certification course from SAP. After you finish the certification and i you have some HR experience, that would help you out a lot in joining in SAP HCM position (in fact it is better than MBA HR)

    Hi,
I am a ABAP consultant with 2yrs exp. I am interested in doing HCM certification. Please tell me whether this is a right decision and how will this affect my career. Thanks in advance.

Hi Sreedahr - it depends what kind of career path you want to take and your bent of mind. Being a SAP HR/HCM consultant can be a lot different. it will not involve any coding stuff. Some people feel insecure when they are not coding and just configuring stuff. But for most, this means more control. Having ABAP experience is not necessary to be a HCM consultant. but, if you are sure that HCM/HR is your forte, go ahead and do it. It surely is a good career option.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. One last thing, is it necessary to have MBA or any HR specialisation to take HCM as career.. I am an MCA, but interested in HR. Will my MCA be a hurdle for my career..
    Regards,
    Sreedahr

Surely not.. If you have a computer background, you can easily learn ABAP. Knowing ABAP is not essential, but surely helps a SAP consultant.
